H700 doesn't support JBOD, but creating 6 separate Raid 0 VHDs (R610 has 6xhot swaps) essentially does the same and they show up using mfiutil ~# mfiutil show drivesĥ ( 279G) ONLINE SAS ~# mfiutil show volumesĪlso at first I read swapping drives in/out required a reboot into controller BIOS, but I've been able to control that as well using mfiutil. FYI for others with a Dell H200 and looking to use it for ZFS in IT mode, I simplified the instructions: Make FreeDos/MSDos boot USB (rufus or others), copy Dell firmware file 6gbpsas.fw with LSI firmware full package and its sas2flsh version. I have a Dell R610 with the H700 testing FreeNAS currently. They don't warranty the battery, so you might end up needing to purchase a new one for peace-of-mind for around $50. The documentation indicates this firmware supports drives larger than 2TB. PERC H200i 'ignoring' some disks in RAID 10 resulting in slow IO. The H200 adapter is flashed to the most current levels available from Dell (Dell PERC H200 Adapter, v.07.03.06.00, A09). Dell has offered a rebranded LSI MegaRAID card as their PowerEdge RAID Controller (PERC) for some time now. Perc H200 in Dell T7600 workstation not showing drives in Server 2012 R2. Been getting H700s on used market for $100 from Deep Discount Servers(they are all over ebay). The H200 runs in IR mode and presently has one has one Seagate ST3600057SS (SAS 600GB) in HDD 0 configured for boot.
